Madeira, Machico, Moby Dick and More! A Podcast.

So many people continue to ask me about my move to Portugal in 2021. So much so, I decided to re-release this podcast. I hope you enjoy hearing more about Portugal, especially Madeira Island.

For me, all these experiences are fodder for writing!

I first arrived in Madeira Island, Portugal in August of 2021 and two weeks later, recorded this podcast, chronicling the the island's beauty and my challenges.

This was my first two weeks as a resident of Portugal. Starting with Madeira Island, I talk about the village of Machico and how it got its name in 1419, the filming of the 1956 "Moby Dick" movie off the shores of northeastern Madeira Island, and the challenging adjustments to living in a new culture.
